KEEP UP WITH GIADOR

Playing dressup….

At the beginning of the week I got a message from Katie, the new sweet little Giador bird, and she told me that her dear sweet middle child was walking around singing one of my songs AND asking to play in “mommie’s jewelry box”.  A child after my own heart, I do tell you.

The post just before this, was Katie’s reminiscent walk down the road that led her from just admiring jewelry to helping others do the same with jewelry worth admiring.  And this little moment brings me to the precious opportunities we have had to both reunite and introduce casual jewelry wearer’s to the passion and meaning behind jewels with soul.  We took a gorgeous vintage gold and diamond pin that was had long lost some of the diamonds that for so many years made it pop and showed the client that we could replace the few stones, throw it on a chain and give life to  a sweet momento of the kind neighbor that treated her as a grandchild. We were also able to take  a ring that had been sitting in a jewelry box for years and years and we looked at it, loved on it, and decided to take the delicate center stone and wrap it with a tiny delicate filgree and diamond pendant to hang gently on the neck whether it be a sweats and ponytail day or a night on the town!  The client beamed as we shared our vision and spoke in her own words exactly what we consider our mission and passion “One day if I do have a daughter, I will be able to pass it down to her and that just warms my heart.  Thank you”.

How many of you reading this have pieces you have never worn because they need some love and tlc?  Or you have pieces that aren’t relevant to your style but have sentimental value?   Let’s play dress up……….

Mama’s jewelry box and coming full circle

How could I have known that all the pilfering I did in my mother’s jewelry box would have led me here? Or that a bible study with a mish-mash of wonderful women five years ago would have led me to Lindsay? Well, both happened, and here I am. Grappling with, and loving, the new world of jewelry opening before me.

babies, fingerprints, change….goood!

First of all, figurative babies……I am still building an empire here!!  Three and a half years ago when I put one foot in front of the other and started Giador, I could never have known how scary and beautiful it would be to watch the birth and go through every single growing step.  There are days that I stop for 1 second too long and think…….”oh crap, where am I and how did I get here??”.  Then, I usually go for a run to calm my crazies and I breath and am reminded…..”so far so good.

Hear say…..What they say…Who’s they?

Well, while I talk alot…I tend to steer far from self promotion.  I tell it straight and confidently but will not give you a business card unless you ask, or send mass emails, or even throw money into the wind for advertisement only to get lost among the sharks in my little pond.

Oh me oh my, time…how fast you fly!

My sincerest apologies for being a bit behind lately!  To be quite honest, I consider it quite the beautiful thing when the usual “slow time” in your industry happens to be your busiest!

“I heard it on the radio”

Soooo, yesterday was quite a day.  It started by an email from a client telling me he was sitting at a radio station listening to another client sing my praises on national radio.  Obviously, neither one knew the other had JUST been sitting in the same seat at the same little quaint jewelry shop in Edgehill Village!  This exact situation has repeated itself on several occasions this month and yesterday I had an Opra “aha moment”.

From the top of the mountain

“I cannot find the words to say not only to thank you for the care you took in the design of my ring, but how absolutely magnificent that it is.  It is the prettiest, most romantic piece of jewelry I have ever laid my eyes on.
