At the beginning of the week I got a message from Katie, the new sweet little Giador bird, and she told me that her dear sweet middle child was walking around singing one of my songs AND asking to play in “mommie’s jewelry box”. A child after my own heart, I do tell you.
The post just before this, was Katie’s reminiscent walk down the road that led her from just admiring jewelry to helping others do the same with jewelry worth admiring. And this little moment brings me to the precious opportunities we have had to both reunite and introduce casual jewelry wearer’s to the passion and meaning behind jewels with soul. We took a gorgeous vintage gold and diamond pin that was had long lost some of the diamonds that for so many years made it pop and showed the client that we could replace the few stones, throw it on a chain and give life to a sweet momento of the kind neighbor that treated her as a grandchild. We were also able to take a ring that had been sitting in a jewelry box for years and years and we looked at it, loved on it, and decided to take the delicate center stone and wrap it with a tiny delicate filgree and diamond pendant to hang gently on the neck whether it be a sweats and ponytail day or a night on the town! The client beamed as we shared our vision and spoke in her own words exactly what we consider our mission and passion “One day if I do have a daughter, I will be able to pass it down to her and that just warms my heart. Thank you”.
How many of you reading this have pieces you have never worn because they need some love and tlc? Or you have pieces that aren’t relevant to your style but have sentimental value? Let’s play dress up……….
