Love + Marriage

It’s nothing new to most of you, the “Push present”…well our labor of love the past 2 weeks has been to help brand new daddy with a gift that was kind, thoughtful and representative of the moment…not just another piece of jewelry “because you are supposed to”.

We started with a delicate cable chain so that it could disappear in the background of the three stones, a rich red mozambique garnet for baby lovingly cuddled by a diamond on each side, representing both mommy and daddy.  We hand carved a free form seat to gently drop the stones into and allowed a very thin mock bezel to mostly hold the stones in place, leaving the metal worn and satined for natural age.  Gently fastened the chain to a tiny bail on either side of the pendant to allow for the perfect seamless piece.  This piece was handcrafted with careful consideration for each detail to be timeless and lived in; and gifted with love.  We enjoyed every single moment, and love the legacy our footprints leave behind.  If you are going to gift, gift thoughtfully and whole heartedly.  Oh, and come to us!!!!!  😉

Congratulations Chad and Wendy Wilhelm, and welcome to the world baby Oakes!  Thank you for letting us be a part of your incredible journey.  Blessings over your new family and a little extra sleep too 🙂

Hear say…..What they say…Who’s they?

Well, while I talk alot…I tend to steer far from self promotion.  I tell it straight and confidently but will not give you a business card unless you ask, or send mass emails, or even throw money into the wind for advertisement only to get lost among the sharks in my little pond.

Show me your pearly whites!

I must admit, I am not really a pearl girl!  But everything has its perfect place and I am happy to share with you a couple of killer finds!

Lets start with the Ruser freshwater masterpiece.  Ruser was best known for their creation of figural pieces centered on the ornate shape of natural freshwater pearls usually fashioned along side 18kt yellow gold and diamonds.  This piece spoke to my heart with its large and in charge elegance.  The surprise of the flattened awkward shape of the pearls almost forces you to question your past judgements on these beautiful oyster birthed gems!  The textured gold makes for an elegant understated frame.

Crosses have long since been a staple to our jewelry collection especially in the Victorian era!  This gorgeous yellow gold and blue enamel cross set with a couple of old cut accent stones has earned the right to revive itself and even bring out the edge in a simple strand of pearls.  Layering changes everything.  Georgeous!

He lovingly calls her Maggie…….

Do you ever find yourself seeing the “emotion” in the pieces we so carefully and lovingly adorn ourselves with?  Do you ever wonder why we do it?  Well, as discussed in a past blog of fury on how people conduct themselves in business, my personal and private person…the very soul of who I am is imprinted on Giador Fine Jewelry.  So it’s only fitting that we focus so intently on NOT THE DOLLAR, NOT THE SIZE, the special lady or man that is the muse and motivation for the gift we are giving.  You can tell alot about me simply by my haircut, or my blue suede shoes….EVEN the color of lipstick I choose AND especially, my ring!  Knowing that..I watch, listen, and learn then create.

Her name is Maggie, and I haven’t met her yet.  Although, I have seen the heart of the man that adores her.  He came as a referral, as the majority of my clients for the last 6 years have.  He sat across from me and gushed about how special and cool his Maggie was, the school teacher with style.  We poured over intricate and different designs and he grew more and more excited.  I left him with a few favorite options to chew over.  A few days and emails later, he said “I love the swirly one, I think I am ready to do this.  I am. I am. I am.”.  Today, he came in and I could see the look of mostly excitement and partial anxiety. I showed him the ring, which I describe as a magical forest of whimsical princesses.  Elated, he says over and over again how his Maggie will love it.  I agreed.  As we finished and I gave him the goods, he asked…so sweetly “can I hug you?”.  We hugged, he left…I smiled….and 4 minutes later received an email….”I cant get the smile off my face”.  Someday, soon…I will meet the muse that inspired the ring that represents the love the boy feels for the whimsical kindergarten teacher.  Just a good day on the job.  The END.
